Seen from Elizabeth Boulevard, the Grand Hotel Royal appears almost as three distinct buildings due to its two elongated and relatively narrow courtyards. During the hotel’s heyday, both were coveted open air venues that were protected from the street by a grille: the Palm Court restaurant (left) and the Kávéház café terrace (right).
